Hello! I’m GP (short for George Philip) and I joined Fort Light because I’m excited to help bring its collective wisdom to more early startup operators.

I entered the startup world through education, and believe all teams can benefit from organizational research, proven leadership tactics, and human-centered processes as they strive to build great companies.

After startup research at Stanford’s GSB and Santa Clara’s Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, I joined Polygence – a student mentorship marketplace – as the first business hire before moving to leadership and strategy.

While every startup experience is unique, that doesn’t mean we’re starting from scratch. I love Fort Light because it represents a shared pool of knowledge that can guide you through the messiest startup moments: tool kits for getting the most out of your team, lessons from seasoned leaders who have seen lots of crazy stuff before, and roadmaps for growing your own career as you go from one company to the next.

As a curated community of smart, kind, and dynamic people, Fort Light also gives you professional connections outside of your team, something I think is key to creating a sense of meaning in your work.
